Exit routes and underground passages may change or temporarily close because of construction. Check the signs inside the station for the latest information.

GINZA SIX: Use Exit A3

For GINZA SIX, use Exit A3.

After reaching street level, walk along Chuo-dori Avenue toward Shimbashi. GINZA SIX is about a two-minute walk from the exit.

You can also use the underground passage connecting Ginza Station and Higashi-ginza Station to reach the second basement floor of GINZA SIX.

Ginza Mitsukoshi: Use Exit A7

For Ginza Mitsukoshi, use Exit A7.

The exit connects directly to the department store, so you do not need to search for the building after going outside. This is especially convenient on rainy days or when carrying luggage.

Look for “Ginza Mitsukoshi” or “A7” on the station signs.

SEIKO HOUSE GINZA and Wako: Use Exit A10

For SEIKO HOUSE GINZA and the Wako department store, use Exit A10.

The building is located at the Ginza 4-chome intersection and is easy to recognize by its famous clock tower.

The clock tower is also a useful landmark and meeting point in central Ginza.

Matsuya Ginza: Use Exit A12

For Matsuya Ginza, use Exit A12.

Exit A12 connects directly to the department store. Follow the signs for “Matsuya Ginza,” and you can enter the building without going outside.

Do not confuse Matsuya Ginza with Ginza Mitsukoshi.

  • Ginza Mitsukoshi: Exit A7
  • Matsuya Ginza: Exit A12

Ginza Sony Park: Use Exit B9

For Ginza Sony Park, use Exit B9.

The park is directly connected to the station. Follow the signs toward Exit B9 and the Sukiyabashi intersection.

Tokyu Plaza Ginza: Use Exit C2 or C3

For Tokyu Plaza Ginza, use Exit C2 or C3.

The building is about a one-minute walk from either exit. Look for signs showing “Tokyu Plaza Ginza” or “Sukiyabashi Intersection.”

JR Yurakucho Station and Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan: Use Exit C9

For JR Yurakucho Station or Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan, use Exit C9.

This exit takes you toward the Yurakucho side of Ginza.

However, if your destination is very close to JR Yurakucho Station, it may be easier to travel directly to Yurakucho instead of using Ginza Station.

Before boarding your train, compare Ginza Station and Yurakucho Station on Google Maps.

Kabukiza Theatre: Use Higashi-ginza Station

You can walk to Kabukiza Theatre from Ginza Station, but Higashi-ginza Station Exit 3 is much easier.

Exit 3 connects directly to the theatre.

When searching on Google Maps, choose “Higashi-ginza Station” instead of “Ginza Station.”

What Do the A, B and C Exits Mean?

As a simple guide:

  • A exits: Ginza 4-chome, Ginza Mitsukoshi, Matsuya Ginza and GINZA SIX
  • B exits: Sukiyabashi intersection and Ginza Sony Park
  • C exits: Tokyu Plaza Ginza and the Yurakucho side

However, exits with the same letter can still be far apart.

Do not follow only the letter. Check the complete exit number, such as A3, A7 or A12.

What If You Need an Elevator?

Ginza Station has several elevators, but some are connected to buildings and may only be available during certain hours.

If you have large luggage, use a wheelchair, or are traveling with a stroller, look for the elevator symbol before following the stairs.

The closest exit to your destination may not have an elevator. In that case, using a slightly farther accessible exit may be easier and safer.

You can check current accessibility information on the official Tokyo Metro Ginza Station page.

How to Ask a Station Employee

Show the destination on your phone and ask:

“Which exit should I use for GINZA SIX?”

“Where is Exit A7?”

“Is there an elevator near this exit?”

You do not need to speak a long sentence. Showing the destination name and exit number will make it easier for the station employee to help you.

Final Tips

At Ginza Station, always check both the letter and number of your exit.

For example, knowing that you need an “A exit” is not enough. Exits A3, A7, A10 and A12 lead to different places.

Google Maps may also show an inaccurate location while you are underground. Follow the station signs until you reach street level, then check Google Maps again.

Checking your exit before you arrive is the easiest way to avoid getting lost at Ginza Station.
