Lost Around Osaka Station? Try the Second-Floor Walkways
You can see the building you want to visit, but you cannot figure out how to get there.
Sound familiar?
Around JR Osaka Station, several large shopping buildings are connected by second-floor pedestrian walkways (2F).
You can often move between buildings without going down to street level or getting lost in the underground malls.
Which Buildings Are Connected?
| Buildings | How to Connect |
|---|---|
| Osaka Station → Grand Front Osaka South Building | 2F pedestrian deck |
| Grand Front South → North Building | 2F connecting walkway |
| Grand Front North → Grand Green Osaka North Building | 2F connecting bridge |
| LUCUA area → Yodobashi Umeda | 2F bridge from Carillon Plaza |
| LUCUA 1100 → Grand Green Osaka South Building | Via Umekita Green Place on 2F |
Where Should You Start?
If you are at JR Osaka Station, a useful starting point is Atrium Plaza (アトリウム広場).
- Exit the JR Central Gate on the first floor.
- Turn left toward the Central North Exit (中央北口).
- Go up to the second-floor Atrium Plaza.
- Follow the signs for your destination.
From here, you can take the pedestrian deck toward Grand Front Osaka.
For Yodobashi Camera, look for the separate second-floor bridge from Carillon Plaza on the east side of the LUCUA area.
For Grand Green Osaka South Building, follow the route through LUCUA 1100 and Umekita Green Place.
Why Use the Second Floor?
The Osaka–Umeda area has many underground passages and large buildings.
The elevated walkways can help you:
- Move between shopping buildings.
- Avoid confusing underground routes.
- See more of your surroundings.
- Reach some destinations without returning to street level.
Remember: Not every building is connected directly on the second floor. Some routes require changing floors, and walkway access may depend on facility opening hours.
